Meiringen is a small town in the Swiss canton of Bern, located in the Hasli Valley in the heart of the Swiss Alps. It has a population of around 4,500 people and is situated at an altitude of 600 meters (1,969 feet) above sea level.
Meiringen is known for its picturesque scenery, outdoor activities, and its association with famous fictional detective Sherlock Holmes.
